NEWBURGH, NY — Police arrested two men and a juvenile on weapon charges following separate shooting incidents on Lander Street.
The City of Newburgh Detective Division on April 14 became aware of a shooting that had occurred in the area of 137 Lander Street, according to police.
The Non-Fatal Shooting Task Force began investigating the incident.
On April 18 at approximately 2:23 a.m., a ShotSpotter notification was received for five rounds in the area of 162 Lander St.
Officers arrived at the scene and located spent shell casings and an unoccupied parked vehicle that had been struck.
On the morning of April 20, the City of Newburgh Emergency Services Unit executed a search warrant at 162 Lander Street.
Terence Walker, 18, of Newburgh, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree in connection with the April 14 shooting incident.
Willie Cousar, 19, of Newburgh, was charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree in connection with the April 18 shooting incident.
During execution of the search warrant, police located a firearm.
For the recovered firearm, Walker and Cousar were each charged with another count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
A 17-year-old juvenile was located inside the residence and also charged with Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd Degree.
