BOSTON, MA — A man wanted in connection with a shooting at a Brockton home earlier this month has been arrested after returning to Massachusetts from the Dominican Republic.
On April 8, Brockton police responded to a report of gunfire inside a home on Oberlin Road.
A short time later, a 23-year-old man arrived at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Detectives quickly identified Christian Cordero, 23, of Brockton, as the suspect and obtained an arrest warrant.
Investigators later learned Cordero had traveled to the Dominican Republic.
Brockton police detectives worked closely with the State Police to track his whereabouts.
After receiving information that Cordero would arrive on a flight into Boston on Saturday, state police troopers took him into custody as he got off the plane.
Cordero is charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (firearm), carrying a firearm without a license, unlawful possession of ammunition, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building.
