Woman stabbed near bus stop in Schenectady

SCHENECTADY, NY — Police are seeking witnesses after a woman was stabbed near a bus stop on State Street.

The Schenectady Police Department received a 911 call at approximately 6:56 p.m. on April 19, 2026, reporting a stabbing in the area of the CDTA bus stop on State Street near Furman Street.

Officers located a 47-year-old woman who had sustained a stab wound to her upper back.

The victim was treated at the scene and transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

The investigation is ongoing.
