North Country Union Junior High names Lynn Crew as assistant principal

DERBY — North Country Union Junior High School recently announced the appointment of Lynn Crew as its new assistant principal, effective July 1, 2026. A seasoned educator with over two decades of experience, Crew brings a unique blend of scientific expertise, international perspective, and a deep-rooted passion for student development to the leadership team.

Crew joins the administration with 23 years of classroom experience, having taught Science for grades 7 through 12, as well as Middle School Mathematics.

Beyond the traditional classroom, Crew’s professional journey includes a decade of international teaching. This ten-year tenure allowed her to immerse herself in diverse cultures and global cuisines, experiences she credits with shaping her inclusive and adaptable leadership style.

Early in her career, Crew took a professional hiatus to serve as a field biologist in the Grand Canyon and the desert Southwest. Her specialized research focused on ornithology and botany, and wildlife management.

Outside of her administrative duties, Crew is an outdoor enthusiast who embraces the Vermont lifestyle. She is an avid mountain biker and water skier, and she spends much of her summer in the garden. During the winter months, she stays active on the ski slopes and balances her time with reading and the intricate craft of quilting.
