Man arrested on assault, theft charges in Carlisle

CARLISLE, PA — Police arrested a man accused of assaulting a woman and stealing her vehicle at a local hotel.

Thomas Adams, 67, of Pennsylvania, was taken into custody April 17 following an incident at the American Inn on Harrisburg Pike.

Middlesex Township Police were dispatched to the hotel at 11:06 p.m. for a report of an assault.

Officers met with the victim and conducted an investigation.

Police determined Adams assaulted the victim by striking her in the head with an unknown object.

Adams then drove away in the victim’s car without her permission, according to police.

Adams was later located in Shippensburg and placed under arrest.

He was transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing and arraignment.

Adams faces charges of theft by unlawful taking, simple assault related to domestic violence, and harassment.
