HARTLAND, VT — A Hartland man was arrested on an active warrant while troopers were investigating a citizen dispute on Route 5.
David A. Thibodeau Sr., 66, of Hartland, was taken into custody at approximately 4 p.m. April 18, 2026.
Troopers from the Royalton Barracks received information that a witness to the dispute had an active Vermont arrest warrant.
An investigation revealed that Thibodeau Sr. failed to appear April 9, 2026, on charges of felony second-degree aggravated domestic assault, reckless endangerment, resisting arrest and violation of an abuse prevention order.
Thibodeau Sr. was located outside a property on Route 5 and taken into custody.
He was transported to Southern State Correctional Facility in Springfield, where he was held on $2,500 cash or surety.
Thibodeau Sr. was issued a citation ordering him to appear before Windsor Superior County Criminal Court on April 20, 2026, at 12:30 p.m.
