BOSTON, MA — Members of the Youth Violence Strike Force recovered a loaded firearm with an obliterated serial number following a subject stop in Roxbury on Thursday.
Officers observed three individuals on the front steps of 614 Dudley Street at approximately 2:35 p.m.
As officers slowed to observe the group, one of the males fled inside the building and closed the door behind him.
Officers repositioned, approaching the front of the building from the rear via Leyland Street.
As they approached, the same individual attempted to run back inside the building.
During the ensuing struggle, an officer felt a hard object in the male’s waistband that he recognized as a firearm.
Officers secured the weapon after continued physical resistance by the suspect.
The suspect, Delaune Hudson, 21, of Dorchester, was placed into handcuffs and transported to Area B-2 for booking.
A member of the Boston Housing Authority Police sustained minor injuries during the altercation.
The recovered firearm was a Taurus G2C 9mm loaded with one round in the chamber and 10 rounds in the magazine, which had a capacity of 12 rounds.
The serial number on the firearm had been obliterated.
Hudson was charged with possession of a firearm, possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, possession of a large capacity feeding device and defaced serial number.
