Drug trafficking arrest made in West Roxbury

WEST ROXBURY, MA — A Jamaica Plain man was arrested on drug trafficking charges following the execution of a search warrant Friday morning.

Elmer William Aviles, also known as Adrian Tejada Arias, 39, of Jamaica Plain, was taken into custody at about 8:52 a.m. on April 17, 2026, in the 4800 block of Washington Street.

Members of the District E-5 Drug Control Unit, working with the NORPAC Task Force and the Drug Enforcement Agency, executed the search warrant at Aviles’ residence.

Officers had been conducting a drug investigation into the suspect, which resulted in obtaining a search warrant for his person, residence and two motor vehicles.

While surveilling the residence, officers observed Aviles exit the home, where he was arrested on an outstanding default warrant from West Roxbury District Court.

The warrant charged him with distribution of Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute Class A substance, possession with intent to distribute cocaine, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and furnishing a false identification to law enforcement.

Officers searched the residence and recovered seven plastic bags containing approximately 80 grams of cocaine, drug paraphernalia, several identifications bearing the name Adrian Tejada Arias and an undisclosed amount of U.S. currency.

Aviles is expected to be arraigned in West Roxbury District Court on a charge of trafficking a Class B substance.
