GLENVILLE, NY — A state trooper was injured after a collision on State Route 50 on April 16, 2026.
At about 12:25 p.m., the trooper was traveling southbound on State Route 50 with lights and sirens activated en route to assist the Schenectady Police Department.
The trooper collided with another southbound vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn.
Following the collision, the trooper’s vehicle overturned, striking and damaging two utility poles.
Both the trooper and the driver of the other vehicle were transported to Ellis Hospital with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
State Route 50 is closed between Miracle Lane and Freeman Bridge Road for the investigation and utility repairs.
