PORTLAND, ME — A man was arrested in connection with a bomb threat made against an elementary school in Otisfield.
The Oxford County Sheriff’s Office received information regarding a potential bomb threat to the Otisfield Elementary School on April 15 at approximately 7:30 a.m.
Deputies responded immediately and worked alongside school staff to initiate established safety protocols.
As a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown.
Following an investigation, Lucas Johnson, 43, of Otisfield, was identified as the individual responsible for making the threat.
Johnson was subsequently located by Oxford County Sheriff’s Office deputies in Portland and arrested without incident.
Johnson was transported to the Oxford County Jail in South Paris where he was booked into the facility.
Johnson has been charged with felony terrorizing.
He has made bail and was released from the facility.
There are bail conditions in effect prohibiting Johnson from having contact with teachers, staff and administrators from Otisfield Elementary and he is prohibited from being on any MSAD 17 property.
Sheriff Christopher Wainwright said there is no ongoing threat to the public or the school community.
