HALFMOON, NY — The Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office arrested a 40-year-old Albany man on driving while intoxicated charges following a motor vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon.
Branson J. Scott, of Albany, was arrested after deputies responded to a crash at 1:01 p.m. on state Route 236.
Scott is accused of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and while his ability to do so was impaired by the combined influence of a drug and alcohol.
He allegedly refused a chemical test.
Scott was also cited for leaving the scene of a property damage motor vehicle crash, failure to use designated lane, moving from lane unsafely and drinking alcohol and using cannabis in a motor vehicle on a public highway.
He allegedly struck two mailboxes with his vehicle, causing damage to both.
No injuries were reported and no other people or vehicles were involved.
Scott was arraigned before the Honorable Constantine F. DeStefano in Mechanicville City Court and released on his own recognizance pending further proceedings in Halfmoon Town Court.
