OLD BRIDGE, NJ — A 39-year-old man has been arrested following an online child exploitation investigation conducted by the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Kevin Coposky, of Old Bridge, was taken into custody on April 15, 2026, without incident at his home.

The Old Bridge Police Department received a tip from a concerned citizen regarding Coposky attempting to meet children online for the purpose of engaging in sexual activity.

An investigation was conducted by Detective Ryan Hall of the Old Bridge Police Department, Detective Christopher Raub of the Sayreville Police Department and Detective Ken McGarry of the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit at the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

Coposky was charged with third-degree Attempting to Endangering the Welfare of a Child.

He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Facility pending the results of a pre-trial detention hearing.

During the course of the ongoing investigation, a self-identified vigilante group independently contacted the suspect and publicly disseminated information regarding the encounter.

These actions directly interfered with and impeded the active criminal investigation, according to authorities.

As a result, investigators were unable to fully develop critical evidence and pursue the full scope of potential charges.

Law enforcement strongly discourages members of the public from engaging in independent actions of this nature, stating such conduct can compromise investigations, hinder the pursuit of justice and impact the ability to hold offenders fully accountable.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Hall of the Old Bridge Police Department at 732-721-4000, Detective Raub of the Sayreville Police Department at 732-727-4444 or Detective McGarry of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office at 732-745-3140.
