HILLSBORO, NH — A joint operation involving three police departments resulted in the arrest of a man wanted on an active warrant April 16, 2026.
Brandon Garland, 39, of Hillsboro, was taken into custody following a high-risk motor vehicle stop on Henniker Street.
The operation involved the Hillsboro, Antrim, and Henniker Police Departments.
Garland exited the vehicle as directed and walked backward with his hands raised, according to police.
He then abruptly reached toward his waistband, turned, and extended his hands toward officers in a manner consistent with drawing a weapon, police said.
K9 Voight was deployed and subdued Garland.
Garland was transported to the hospital for injuries sustained during the incident.
A search warrant executed on Garland’s motor vehicle revealed numerous packages of controlled substances, including suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, and prescription medications, according to police.
Garland is being held at the Hillsborough County House of Corrections on preventative detention pending arraignment.
