HUGUENOT, NY — Firefighters responded to a house fire with possible entrapment shortly before 4 a.m. Thursday.

The Port Jervis Fire Department was requested on a second alarm assignment with two engines.

Car 1 arrived to find a well-advanced structure fire.

Engine 2 arrived as the first due engine with a full crew and was followed shortly after by Huguenot Engine 814.

Both crews immediately went to work knocking down the majority of the fire.

Engine 6 was directed to a fill site on Painted Aprons Terrace and drafted nearly 20,000 gallons from a pond.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Firefighters also responded to a call at Kolmar later in the day, which was determined to be an issue with a rooftop unit.
