Man arrested on weapons charge in Elmira

ELMIRA, NY — New York State Police arrested a Pennsylvania man on weapons and traffic charges following a traffic stop April 13, 2026.

Marc Alan Bundy, 27, of Millmont, Pennsylvania, was taken into custody after a trooper observed multiple violations on Corning Road in the town of Elmira.

At approximately 8:34 a.m., a state trooper conducting stationary traffic enforcement observed a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado traveling northbound without a front license plate, no valid inspection sticker, and the driver not wearing a seatbelt.

The trooper initiated a traffic stop as the vehicle turned into a nearby business.

During the stop, the trooper observed a loaded handgun partially concealed under the center console.

The firearm was secured, and Bundy was found to have a suspended New York State driver’s license with multiple suspensions, as well as active warrants from the City of Elmira and the Village of Elmira Heights.

A check verified that Bundy did not possess a valid pistol permit.

He was taken into custody without incident.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed no additional contraband.

Bundy was transported to State Police Horseheads for processing.

The Bureau of Criminal Investigation responded and assumed the investigation.

Bundy was charged with criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree, a class C felony, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle 2nd degree, operating a motor vehicle without an inspection certificate, and no seatbelt.

He was arraigned in the Village of Elmira Heights Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail on bail set at $15,000 cash, $25,000 bond, or $25,000 partially secured bond.
