SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — Police responded to a report of a fight in progress on West Avenue near Washington Street at approximately 7:30 a.m. today.
Officers arrived to find one victim with a serious injury from the fight and immediately called for emergency medical attention.
The victim was transported to Saratoga Hospital by Saratoga Springs Fire/EMS.
A suspect was quickly located by patrol officers and is detained at this time.
West Avenue has been closed from Church Street (state route 9N) to Washington Street (state route 29) for crime scene processing.
Police are asking motorists to find alternate routes around West Avenue via Grand Avenue or Church Street.
