E-bike rider killed in crash in East Hempfield Township

EAST HEMPFIELD TOWNSHIP, PA — A 30-year-old Lancaster City man was killed when he was struck by a vehicle while riding an e-bike Tuesday afternoon.

East Hempfield Township Police Department responded to the area of Wilson Avenue and Dartmouth Drive at approximately 4:06 p.m. for a report of an e-bike rider that had been struck by a vehicle.

The rider sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The operator of the vehicle, a 75-year-old Manor Township resident, was uninjured in the collision.

The area of Wilson Avenue and Dartmouth Drive was closed for the duration of the initial investigation but was reopened at approximately 6:34 p.m.
