MOORESTOWN, NJ — Police responded to a bomb threat at Moorestown Friends School on Thursday.
School officials immediately implemented established safety protocols after receiving notification of the threat, while officers and emergency personnel responded to assess and secure the scene.
A shelter-in-place was recommended for the campus based on the nature of the threat and in coordination with school officials.
Faculty and staff acted promptly to maintain a calm and controlled environment, ensuring students remained safe, supported and engaged throughout the incident.
The school issued notifications to parents and guardians as information became available and provided updates as the situation evolved.
Following a thorough investigation, the threat was determined to be not credible.
Explosive detection K-9 teams from the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office and Moorestown Police Department assisted in thoroughly searching the property.
Det. Mroczka and K-9 Kemp and Det. Alter and K-9 Jett of the Burlington County Sheriff’s Office, along with Ptl. Toscani and K-9 Cyrus of the Moorestown Police Department, conducted the search.
The Moorestown Fire Department also assisted in the response.
Police reminded parents and guardians not to respond directly to the school during an active incident, as doing so may divert critical law enforcement resources away from emergency response efforts.
