FAIR HAVEN, VT — A Castleton woman was arrested Monday after police say she gave them a fake name during a March investigation.

Jamie L. Daniels, 38, of Castleton, was arrested following an investigation into an unwanted person at a residence.

Police were called to Washington Street at 5:35 p.m. on March 8 for a report of an unwanted person at a residence.

Upon arrival, police located a female at the residence who claimed she was allowed to stay there by a friend.

Police interviewed the female and obtained her name and other personal information before she left the residence.

Through investigation, police later learned the female was actually Daniels, who was wanted on an arrest warrant at the time.

Daniels allegedly provided a false name to avoid being arrested on the warrant.

Daniels was arrested and issued a citation to appear in Rutland District Court at a future date.

Daniels is currently held at the Chittenden Regional Correctional Center on other charges.
