Man arrested on felony contempt charge in New Hartford

NEW HARTFORD, NY — A 40-year-old man faces felony criminal contempt charges after an investigation into unlawful physical contact with a 17-year-old victim.

New Hartford Police arrested Raynaldo Raymos following an incident that reportedly occurred on April 7, 2026, at a residence in the Town of New Hartford.

The victim, whose name will not be released, was exposed to inappropriate physical contact while at a residence where Raymos was also present.

The victim and offender are known to each other.

At the time the incident occurred, there was an active Court Order of Protection issued by a Court of law in place prohibiting this and several other types of behavior stemming from a previous incident.

The New Hartford Police Criminal Investigation Division assumed responsibility for the investigation after Police Officers secured the initial report with assistance from the Oneida County Child Advocacy Center.

New Hartford Police secured further evidence as part of this investigation and Police Investigators furthered the case when, along with the United States Marshals Service – NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, they located and arrested Raymos on multiple charges.

The task force is comprised of members of the United States Marshals Service, New Hartford Police, Utica Police, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, Oneida County Probation Department, New York State Police, and New York State Parole.

Raymos has been charged with Criminal Contempt, 1st Degree, a felony; Forcible Touching, a misdemeanor; and Harassment 2nd, a violation.

Raymos was transported to the New Hartford Police Department for processing and then transported to the Oneida County Jail where he will be held in pre-arraignment detention to await arraignment in the Oneida County Centralized Arraignment Part Court.
