Man arrested in multiple burglaries in Rockland

ROCKLAND, ME — Police arrested a man April 13 in connection with multiple burglaries on Main Street.

Rockland Police responded to a report of a burglary at approximately 1 a.m. at an apartment on Main Street.

The theft involved several thousand dollars worth of electronics.

Officers identified the suspect as George Gilmore, 40, who is transient.

Police located and recovered the stolen property, as well as clothing and additional electronic equipment suspected of being stolen.

Through the investigation, officers identified at least two other burglary victims on Main Street.

Gilmore was arrested for felony burglary and violation of probation.

He is currently on probation for a 2018 conviction of elevated aggravated assault.

Additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.

Police said a fourth burglary was solved related to the case April 14 and the remaining stolen property was returned.
