STOCKTON SPRINGS, ME — Maine State Police are investigating a head-on collision that left one person dead Monday evening.
Troopers from the Central Field Troop responded to Route 1 at approximately 6:08 p.m. for a report of a crash involving two vehicles.
A preliminary investigation shows that a truck driven by Adam Sorrentino, 42, of Belfast, was traveling westbound when he struck an eastbound Subaru Forester driven by Anne Pomroy, 77, of Old Orchard Beach.
Pomroy suffered serious injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Sorrentino was transported to a local hospital where he was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
