Woman arrested on DUI charge on Interstate 89

WILLISTON, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a St. Albans woman on suspicion of driving under the influence following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 89 North on April 11, 2026.

Troopers received multiple calls from motorists about a crash on I-89 North at approximately 9:31 p.m.

Troopers from the Williston Barracks located the vehicle at mile marker 96 approximately 150 yards off the roadway.

Further investigation revealed the operator, Julia T. Walters, 31, of St. Albans, had operated a motor vehicle while impaired.

Walters was transported to UVM Medical Center for precautionary reasons.

While at the hospital, Walters was arrested for suspicion of DUI.

Walters was issued a citation to appear in Chittenden County Superior Court-Criminal Division and released.
