ULSTER, NY — The Ulster Police Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on Ulster Avenue near Applebee’s Restaurant at approximately 2:37 p.m. April 12, 2026.
Officers arrived to find both vehicles with extensive damage still in the roadway.
A 2012 Jeep SUV operated by Ysatis Payton of Kingston was exiting the parking lot of Kings Mall when it was struck by a 2020 Nissan SUV operated by Maria Sanabria of Kingston, who was traveling southbound on Ulster Avenue.
The operator of the Nissan and three passengers were evaluated on scene by Ulster Hose Fire Company and Empress Ambulance.
All four were transported to Health Alliance Hospital with minor injuries.
The collision forced the closure of the southbound lanes of Ulster Avenue while emergency personnel were on scene.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
The Ulster Police Department was assisted at the scene by the New York State Police, Ulster Hose Fire Company and Empress Ambulance.
