WILLINGBORO, NJ — The Willingboro Township Police Department responded to the Avery Apartment Complex at approximately 9 a.m. Monday for a report of a suspicious box.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an initial assessment and observed a metal box with a wire protruding from it.
Out of an abundance of caution, officers secured the area and requested assistance from the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad.
Members of the New Jersey State Police Bomb Squad responded to the scene and conducted a thorough investigation.
The item was ultimately determined to be non-hazardous and posed no threat to the public.
The scene was cleared at approximately 12:45 p.m., and normal activities have resumed.
