Man arrested on warrant in Penn Yan

PENN YAN, NY — A Dundee man was arrested on an active warrant stemming from an alleged order of protection violation.

James P. Mahan, 55, of Dundee, was arrested April 13 at 1:30 p.m. by the Yates County Sheriff’s Office.

The warrant was issued out of the Town of Starkey Court and stems from an incident that occurred in the Village of Dundee on April 11 at 11:55 a.m. on Hamilton Street.

Mahan is charged with aggravated family offense, a class E felony, and second-degree criminal contempt, a class A misdemeanor.

He was transported to the Yates County Jail to await centralized arraignment.

The Penn Yan Police Department assisted in the investigation.
