ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — A martial arts instructor has been charged in connection with a sexual assault investigation.
On March 9, the Allegheny County Police Department’s General Investigations Unit was requested to investigate a reported sexual assault that had occurred at a local martial arts studio.
Through their investigation, detectives determined Steve Burnisky, 22, an instructor at the studio, sexually assaulted a 13-year-old victim on multiple occasions during private lessons.
Burnisky faces multiple charges including statutory sexual assault, sexual assault and indecent assault.
He was taken into custody and transported to the Allegheny County Jail pending preliminary arraignment.
