MANCHESTER, NH — A Manchester man was arrested after allegedly stealing money from a tip jar while armed with a knife at a downtown bookstore.
Manchester Police responded to The Bookery at 844 Elm St. at approximately 11:25 a.m. on April 11, 2026, for a reported robbery.
Employees told arriving officers that a man had been in the store for a period of time and they had noticed he had a knife.
The man went up to the café counter and asked for a glass of water.
After he received the water, he displayed the knife, grabbed money from the tip jar and headed outside, according to police.
Minutes later, officers located a man matching the suspect’s description near the Hanover Chophouse.
He was found to have a knife on him.
The suspect was identified as Christopher Webber, 28, of Manchester.
Webber was arrested and charged with robbery (armed) and felon in possession of a dangerous weapon.
He will be arraigned on April 13, 2026, in Manchester District Court.
