ALTOONA, PA — A Philadelphia man was arrested following a traffic stop that led to the seizure of fentanyl, cocaine and other drugs.
Keith Fatim Lamo Harris, 31, of Philadelphia, was taken into custody on April 8 after officers conducted a narcotics investigation into suspected fentanyl trafficking in the city.
Officers from the Altoona Police K-9 Unit and troopers from the Pennsylvania State Police IRT Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of 700 Chestnut Ave. at approximately 2:30 p.m. after the vehicle changed lanes and failed to use a turn signal.
Upon making contact with the driver and passenger, officers detected the odor of marijuana emanating from inside the vehicle.
K-9 Blue, of the Altoona Police Department, conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a narcotic or controlled substance odor.
Harris, who was a passenger in an Uber, was found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and was taken into custody.
Officers and troopers obtained a search warrant for Harris’ property and personal bags.
The following items were seized: 320 packets of heroin/fentanyl with a street value of approximately $6,400; one ounce of crack cocaine with a street value of $2,800; six grams of packaged cocaine with a value of $600; and one ounce of marijuana with a value of $200.
Harris is charged with four counts of possession with intent to deliver, four counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia.
He was arraigned and committed to Blair County Prison on $200,000 straight bail.
