SARATOGA SPRINGS, NY — A Cambridge, NY, man was arrested minutes after an attempted bank robbery on Division Street.
Police responded to Bank of America at 5:02 p.m. on April 9, 2026, after staff reported an attempted robbery.
The suspect left the bank without any proceeds, and no weapon was displayed during the incident.
Officers arrived at the bank within two minutes and began interviewing employees.
Officer Curtis Rossi spotted a man matching the suspect’s description entering a business on Broadway.
Patrol officers detained the man and brought him to the police station.
Eric Headwell, 61, of Cambridge, NY, was charged with attempted robbery in the third degree, a class E felony.
Headwell was given an appearance ticket for arraignment on April 28, 2026, at 9 a.m. in Saratoga Springs City Court.
