ROME, NY — Two people were arrested on sex trafficking charges Tuesday following a multi-agency operation.
Deanna Dicastro, 39, of Rome, and Gilliam Cordero, 38, of New York City, were taken into custody without incident.
Both are charged in a New York State Supreme Court indictment with sex trafficking of a child, robbery in the first degree and promoting prostitution in the third degree.
The Rome Police Department Special Investigations Unit, along with the New York State Police Troop D VGNET, Oneida County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit and the NYPD Manhattan Warrant Squad assisted the New York County District Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Unit in the apprehension.
A search warrant was executed in the 600 block of South James Street in Rome on the same date.
Electronic devices, firearms and a quantity of unidentified pills were secured from the location.
Cordero and Dicastro were transported to Manhattan for arraignment in New York State Supreme Court.
Cordero was remanded without bail.
Bail for Dicastro was set at $500,000 cash, $750,000 bond and $1 million partially secured surety bond.
