BREWSTER, NY — A 21-year-old man has been arrested following an investigation into the sexual assault of a juvenile victim.
Christian Alexis Lopez Gregorio, of Brewster, was taken into custody April 3 by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
The Sheriff’s Office received a report March 27, 2026, regarding a past sexual assault involving a female juvenile victim.
Members of the Bureau of Criminal Investigation conducted an investigation and located Lopez Gregorio.
Lopez Gregorio attempted to flee on foot and resisted arrest before being taken into custody, according to Sheriff Brian Hess.
Lopez Gregorio has been charged with two counts of rape in the first degree, a class B felony, and resisting arrest, a class A misdemeanor.
He was processed at the Putnam County Correctional Facility and arraigned in the Town of Southeast Court for the Village of Brewster.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
Lopez Gregorio was remanded to the Putnam County Correctional Facility.
