BRUNSWICK, NY — State Police arrested a Schaghticoke man on April 9, 2026, on charges related to child sexual exploitation and illegal weapons possession.
Brian D. Jackson, 41, of Schaghticoke, was taken into custody following an investigation and execution of a search warrant at his residence.
Jackson faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon 2nd, a class C felony; promoting a sexual performance by a child, a class D felony; two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 3rd, a class D felony; possessing a sexual performance by a child, a class E felony; criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony; and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon 4th, a class A misdemeanor.
Police said Jackson is accused of promoting and possessing images consistent with child sexual exploitation.
Multiple illegally possessed firearms were located and seized from Jackson’s home during the search warrant execution, according to police.
Jackson cannot legally possess any firearm due to a previous felony conviction, police said.
The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
State Police were assisted by the Troop G Computer Crimes Unit, the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.
Jackson was processed at State Police Brunswick and arraigned at Schaghticoke Town Court, where he was remanded to the Rensselaer County Correctional Facility without bail.
