BROOKFIELD, CT — Three people were injured in a two-vehicle crash on Whisconier Road at the intersection of High Ridge Road on April 4, 2026.
The Brookfield Police Department received multiple 911 calls about the crash at 2:01 p.m.
A 2020 Chevrolet Equinox was stopped in the southbound lane of Whisconier Road, waiting to make a left turn onto High Ridge Road.
A 2017 Toyota Tacoma, also traveling southbound on Whisconier Road, was approaching the stopped Chevrolet and other stopped traffic.
The operator of the Toyota told police he was distracted within the passenger compartment of his vehicle and was not paying attention to the roadway.
The Toyota crossed over the double yellow line and collided with the Chevrolet as it executed a left turn.
Three occupants of the Chevrolet were transported by Brookfield EMS to Danbury Hospital for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries.
The operator of the Toyota was issued infractions for operating without a license, failure to drive in proper lane and distracted driving.
Whisconier Road was closed for approximately 30 minutes.
