SOUTH BERWICK, ME — A man was taken into custody by the Southern Maine Special Response Team after a domestic incident on Warren Pond Road.
At 10:30 a.m. on April 7, 2026, the South Berwick Police Department responded to 20 Warren Pond Road for a domestic disturbance that involved an adult male who threatened a family member with a knife.
When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the suspect had retreated into the woods to a nearby hunting cabin.
Police attempted to convince the suspect to exit the woods to speak with them, but he refused to do so.
South Berwick Police then requested assistance from the Southern Maine Special Response Team to help take the suspect into custody.
After several hours of searching the woods and the surrounding area, the Special Response Team located the suspect, Robert Hundley, 30, of South Berwick, and took him into custody without incident.
Hundley is charged with criminal threatening and violating conditions of release.
Hundley was transported to York County Jail.
The South Berwick Police Department was assisted by the Southern Maine Special Response Team, the Rollinsford, N.H., Police Department, the South Berwick Fire Department, the York County EMA Drone Team and the Sanford Regional Communication Center.
