DUDLEY, MA — A Southbridge woman was arrested after being found unresponsive behind the wheel of a vehicle stopped in the middle of a roadway.

On Friday, April 3, at approximately 9:35 p.m., Nichols College Public Safety reported a motor vehicle stopped in the roadway on Center Road, with a female operator who appeared to be unresponsive.

Sgt. Keith Remillard and Officer Luis Pacheco responded to the scene and located a Buick Regal stopped in the middle of the road near 105 Center Road.

The operator appeared to be asleep behind the wheel.

Officers were able to wake the operator and initiated an on-scene investigation.

During the course of the investigation, officers located a small green container containing a whitish, rock-like substance believed to be crack cocaine.

Officers subsequently requested a K9 unit to assist with a search of the vehicle.

Webster Police Officer Tommy Motyka responded with K9 OJ.

K9 OJ alerted to the vehicle’s dome light area, where officers discovered two small baggies.

The substances within the baggies are believed to be heroin/fentanyl and crack cocaine.

The operator, identified as Sherry Plitouke, 39, of Southbridge, was placed under arrest and charged with operating under the influence of drugs, negligent operation of a motor vehicle, possession of a Class B drug and possession of a Class A drug.

Plitouke was released on her personal recognizance and will be arraigned at Dudley District Court on Monday morning.
