WAREHAM, MA — Three men were arrested on drug charges following a narcotics investigation at Cranberry Plaza on March 31, 2026.
Wareham Police detectives conducting street-level narcotic enforcement observed a vehicle and its occupants conducting drug transactions in the plaza parking lot.
When detectives approached the vehicle, they observed suspected crack cocaine and drug paraphernalia in plain view.
Nicholas Veelenturf, 38, of Harwich was found in possession of a plastic lockbox and a large quantity of U.S. currency.
Detectives obtained a search warrant through Wareham District Court to search the lockbox.
Inside the lockbox, detectives located a large quantity of suspected cocaine, suspected fentanyl and various pills.
Veelenturf was charged with trafficking cocaine (36-100 grams), two counts of distributing Class B, possession to distribute Class A and possession to distribute Class C.
Corey Simpson, 35, of Buzzards Bay was charged with possession of Class E.
John Cooney, 70, of East Wareham was charged with possession of Class B.
All three were arraigned at Wareham Fourth District Court on Wednesday, April 1, 2026.
