Shots fired investigation leads to firearm arrest in Hartford

HARTFORD, CT — Police arrested a New Britain man and a juvenile after responding to reports of gunshots on March 20, 2026.

Hartford Police responded to a ShotSpotter activation and citizen reports of multiple gunshots in the area of Albany Avenue and Woodland Street.

Members of the Street Crimes Unit, already in the area, observed a gray Infiniti sedan fleeing recklessly from the scene.

Officers attempted a motor vehicle stop, but the operator fled, failing to obey police signals.

The vehicle was later observed traveling the wrong way on Cabot Street, where it became involved in a minor collision.

Both occupants fled on foot but were quickly apprehended without incident.

During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded firearm from a juvenile passenger.

Police arrested Naeshaun Hill, 23, of New Britain.

Hill was charged with reckless driving, failure to obey officer signal, interfering with police and weapons in a motor vehicle.

Officers recovered a Glock 22 .40 caliber handgun with a 15-round magazine containing 14 rounds.
