EAST LONGMEADOW, MA — Police are investigating a possible kidnapping and assault reported near East Longmeadow High School on Wednesday evening.
The East Longmeadow Police Department received multiple 911 calls at approximately 5:30 p.m. regarding the incident near the high school on Maple Street.
Officers responded immediately and began investigating, but the individual involved fled the area before police arrived and has not been located.
Multiple witnesses reported the victim left the area on their own after fleeing from the suspect, according to a police update issued at 7:56 p.m.
The victim has not come forward as of Wednesday evening.
Police said there is no threat to schools or the community, and the incident appears to be isolated and involving only two individuals.
The matter remains an active investigation.
