NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A 28-year-old woman was arrested on an assault charge following a domestic dispute on April 1, 2026.
New Rochelle police detectives arrested Ijahnee Simmons of New Rochelle at about 8:35 p.m. and charged her with second-degree assault, a felony.
Officers initially responded to 12 Church Street at approximately 6:33 a.m. following a report of a possible stabbing.
Upon arrival, officers located a 31-year-old male victim who had sustained a puncture wound to his upper thigh.
He was treated at the scene for significant blood loss and transported to a local hospital, where he underwent surgery.
He is currently listed in stable condition.
Simmons was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
After a thorough investigation, detectives determined that Simmons assaulted the victim during a domestic dispute.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time.
