EAST HAMPTON, CT — A 75-year-old man died after being struck by a vehicle in a parking lot on April 3, 2026.
James Bansemer, of Colchester, was struck at approximately 2:57 p.m. in the parking lot of Napa Auto Parts at 72 E. High St.
Members of the East Hampton Police Department, East Hampton Fire Department and East Hampton Ambulance Association responded to the scene.
Bansemer became unresponsive with no pulse and CPR was initiated.
He was transported to Marlborough Medical Center, where he died from his injuries.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
The accident is under investigation.
