WILLIAMSTOWN, VT — Vermont State Police responded to a 911 hang-up call at a residence on March 17, 2026.
Troopers arrived at approximately 7:41 p.m. and made contact with all parties at the scene.
An investigation determined that Troy Bennett, 47, of Williamstown, engaged in violent, tumultuous and threatening behavior and caused damage to property.
The victim was identified as John Cook, 47, of East Montpelier.
Bennett was cited on April 5, 2026, on charges of unlawful mischief and aggravated disorderly conduct.
He is scheduled to appear in Vermont Superior Court – Orange County Criminal Division on April 22, 2026, at 8:30 a.m.
