HORSEHEADS, NY — A 37-year-old man faces multiple charges including felony weapon possession following a domestic dispute.
Ryken G. Ruuspakka, of Horseheads, was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, along with criminal mischief in the 4th degree, endangering the welfare of a child, obstructing governmental administration and assault in the 3rd degree, all class A misdemeanors.
The Chemung County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to a domestic incident in the town at about 11:52 p.m. April 5, 2026.
Deputies removed a total of 47 firearms from the residence under New York State domestic violence laws, including six non-New York State compliant weapons and four 30-round magazines.
The Criminal Investigation Division of the Sheriff’s Office assisted in the investigation.
Ruuspakka was arraigned in Horseheads Town Court and remanded to the Chemung County Jail in lieu of bail.
