WELLS, VT — Vermont State Police arrested a 63-year-old man on multiple charges after responding to a weapons offense report April 4.
Troopers received a report at approximately 5:04 p.m. of a weapons offense at a residence on Bull Frog Hollow Road in Wells.
Police identified Benjamin E. VanGuilder, of Wells, as one of the involved parties.
Investigation revealed that VanGuilder was armed with a firearm and threatened a family or household member with it, according to police.
VanGuilder was taken into custody and transported to the Rutland Barracks for processing.
He was charged with first degree aggravated domestic assault, recklessly endangering another person, false reports to law enforcement authorities and operating after suspension or revocation of license.
VanGuilder was transported to Marble Valley Regional Correctional Facility following processing.
