Couple charged with retail theft in Warrington

WARRINGTON, PA — Police have charged two people in connection with a retail theft at Wegmans on Dec. 31.

Warrington Police responded to the store at 1405 Main Street on Jan. 16 for a report of retail theft.

Loss prevention staff reported that a male and female selected a bottle of Cristal Brut Champagne valued at $439.99 from a secured area.

The pair then selected additional merchandise throughout the store before exiting without paying, according to police.

The total value of the stolen items was $559.43.

An investigation identified the suspects as Maya Jasmine Alkiyal, 24, of Beverly, New Jersey, and Christopher James Bartorillo, 25, of Clifton Heights.

A criminal complaint has been filed in District Court against both individuals.

Alkiyal is charged with retail theft and receiving stolen property.
