HOLYOKE, MA — Members of the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force and Holyoke Police Officers seized two illegal firearms, a trafficking weight of cocaine and a trafficking weight of fentanyl after executing a search warrant on Dwight Street.
On Friday at approximately 4:30 a.m., members of the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force and Holyoke Police Officers executed a search warrant at an apartment at 771 Dwight Street.
Investigators had already been granted an arrest warrant for the resident of the address, Luis Sanchez, on drug trafficking charges.
The warrant was executed and Sanchez was placed under arrest.
Task Force members and officers recovered two illegal firearms, one of which had an extended magazine capable of holding 17 rounds of ammunition.
Also seized were approximately 1,500 vials of cocaine (23.5 grams) and approximately 800 bags of suspected fentanyl (20 grams).
On Thursday, Springfield Police Officers conducted a motor vehicle stop and arrested Manuel Sanchez, 33, of Southampton.
Sanchez had an outstanding arrest warrant out of Hampden Superior Court in connection with cocaine and suspected fentanyl trafficking.
This is an ongoing investigation conducted by the FBI Western Massachusetts Gang Task Force.
Luis Sanchez, 33, of Holyoke is charged with cocaine trafficking 18-36 grams; fentanyl trafficking more than 10 grams; possession of ammunition without an FID card; possession of a firearm without an FID card (two counts); improper storage of a firearm; possession of a large capacity feeding device/magazine; possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony (two counts); arrest warrant – trafficking of a Class A drug over 200 grams; and trafficking of a Class B drug 100-200 grams.
