JOHNSTON, RI — A 36-year-old Johnston man was arrested on drug and firearm charges following the execution of a search warrant.
Nicholas Souto, of Johnston, was taken into custody at approximately 5:05 a.m. April 3 by members of the HIDTA Task Force and the Providence Police Department Narcotics Unit.
Souto was charged with possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – fentanyl; possession with intent to deliver a Schedule II controlled substance – cocaine; and two counts of possession of a firearm while committing a controlled substance violation.
The arrest was the result of a narcotics investigation.
Souto was transported to the Lincoln Woods Barracks, where he was processed.
He was later transported to Third District Court for arraignment.
Man arrested as fugitive from justice in Cranston

CRANSTON, RI — A 33-year-old Cranston man was arrested as a fugitive from justice from the state of Massachusetts.
Michael Gallo, of Cranston, was taken into custody at approximately 11 a.m. April 3 by members of the Computer Crimes Unit/Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Gallo was transported to the State Police Headquarters and processed.
He was arraigned before Magistrate Ippolito.
Gallo was remanded to the custody of the Sheriff’s Department, pending his return to Massachusetts.
