Liquor store robbery suspect arrested in Naugatuck

NAUGATUCK, CT — The Naugatuck Police Department responded to D & D Liquors for a reported robbery at approximately 9:30 a.m.

A male suspect stole a bottle of liquor and displayed a pocket knife during the incident, police said.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect fled the scene in a white Jeep before officers arrived.

Surrounding agencies were immediately notified with a description of the suspect and vehicle.

The vehicle was later located and stopped in New Haven.

The suspect, identified as Alex Lawrence, 34, of New Haven, was taken into custody without incident.

He has been charged with robbery, threatening, larceny and breach of peace.

Lawrence is being held on a $200,000 bond and is scheduled to appear at Waterbury Superior Court on Monday, April 6, 2026.
