Two arrested on drug charges in Hammond

HAMMOND, NY — Two people face felony drug charges following a traffic stop on April 1, 2026.

Chauncey J. Pray, 36, of Hammond, and Ashley L. Fuller, 36, of Gouverneur, were each charged with one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 4th degree, a class C felony; and criminal use of drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.

Members of the New York State Police Troop B-Violent Gangs and Narcotics Enforcement Team were patrolling in Hammond when they initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle with an expired inspection.

During the stop, narcotics packaging material was observed, prompting a search of the vehicle.

Further investigation revealed that Pray and Fuller were in possession of fentanyl with the intent to sell.

They were arrested and transported to the State Police station in Ogdensburg for processing.

After being arraigned in the Town of Lisbon Court, Pray was remanded to the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.

Fuller was released to the supervision of probation.
