CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — A Philadelphia man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with a stabbing at a Planet Fitness gym.
Davier Massey, 28, of Philadelphia, was arrested following the incident that occurred at approximately 12:33 p.m. on April 2, 2026, at the Planet Fitness located at 1000 South Easton Road in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township.
Police and emergency medical services responded to a report of a stabbing at the gym.
A male victim with multiple stab wounds was located and transported to an area trauma center for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
The victim is an employee of Planet Fitness, according to police.
Preliminary investigation determined the victim was stabbed during an altercation with a person who had previously been banned from the business.
Massey was apprehended a short distance away by responding officers.
He has been charged with criminal attempt-murder of the first degree, aggravated assault, recklessly endangering another person, possession of an instrument of crime, simple assault, terroristic threats, criminal mischief, harassment and disorderly conduct.
Bail was denied and Massey was remanded to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility pending further court proceedings.
The incident remains under investigation by the Cheltenham Police Department.
